Help and support
Write to hello@shpapps.dev. For anything about your data, include your Support ID: it is in the app under Settings (the gear on the scanner) → About → Support ID; tap it to copy it.
Scanning a card
Fit one card in the frame, flat and in good light, with its bottom edge (where the number is printed) readable: the number is what tells one printing from another. If the result is not the right card, tap one of the cards under "Not this one?", or "Search the catalog". The finish (normal, reverse holo, holo) and the language can be changed on the same sheet. If the scanner got it wrong, "Report a wrong match" helps us fix it (never the photo: see the privacy policy).
Counting a pile
Tap Pile on the scanner. Hold the phone still above the table and drop cards onto the pile one at a time, face up. Let each card fill about half the screen: smaller, and its number cannot be read (the app says "Move closer" when it needs to). Each card is counted once, with a sound and a vibration (both can be turned off in Settings). Cards marked "Check this one" are shown first when you add the pile, so you can fix them with a tap or confirm them. The pile is kept until you add it to your collection or clear it, even if you leave pile mode or close the app.
Reverse holos
A reverse holo's art looks just like the normal card's, so the camera cannot tell them apart. In pile mode, turn on the "Reverse holos" switch for a pile of reverse holos; for a single card, pick the finish on its sheet, or later on its line in the collection.
A card it does not find
Search for it: a name in any language, a number such as 25/102, or a set code, mixed in any order. Some special cards (such as gallery subsets and some promos) cannot be recognised by the camera yet, but the search finds them. Cards whose language Pilefall cannot read count as the language chosen in Settings → Your cards' language.
Reference prices
The price next to a card is Cardmarket's trend price from its public price guide, for any condition and all languages, with the date of the price guide. A card in poor condition, or in a language that sells for less or more, can sell for a different price. Some cards have no reference price. The prices are a reference, not an offer or a valuation.
Backups and a new phone
Your collection lives on your phone, and your phone's own backups (iCloud or computer backups on iPhone, Google's backup on Android when it is on) include it. To move it yourself: Settings → Back up to a file, and save the file where you keep files (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, a computer). On the new phone, install Pilefall, then Settings → Restore from a file, and choose to add the cards to your collection or replace it.
Spreadsheets (CSV)
Settings → Export a spreadsheet (CSV) sends your whole collection as a spreadsheet: every card with its set, number, language, finish, edition, condition, copies, binder, note and reference price, and its Cardmarket product number. Settings → Import a spreadsheet (CSV) reads Pilefall's own file, and files from other apps or spreadsheets when each row has a Cardmarket product number, or a set and a number. Pilefall says how many cards it found before it imports, and which rows it could not match.
Free cards and Pilefall Pro
Pile mode counts 50 cards a day for free; the counter at the top of pile mode's list says how many are left. The pile that reaches the 50th card counts on to its end (up to 50 more), so nothing is cut short; the next pile waits until midnight, or for Pilefall Pro, which has no daily limit. Scanning single cards, your collection, sets, the wishlist and spreadsheets are always free.
Pilefall Pro did not arrive
Open Settings → Pilefall Pro → See Pilefall Pro, tap "Restore purchases", then wait a minute. If Pro still does not show, write to us with your Support ID and the store's receipt (the order number in your receipt email).
Cancelling a plan
The yearly and monthly plans renew until you cancel them in your store account, at least a day before the renewal date. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a plan. Lifetime is paid once and has nothing to cancel.
Refunds
Apple and Google handle payments and refunds: Apple, Google Play.
Pro on a new phone
Pilefall Pro belongs to your App Store or Google Play account, not to the phone. On a new phone, or after reinstalling the app, sign in with the same store account, then Settings → Pilefall Pro → See Pilefall Pro → "Restore purchases".
Crash reports
When Settings → Privacy → Send crash reports is on, a report of what failed goes to us when the app fails, so we can fix it: never your photos, cards or collection. It is off until you turn it on.
Deleting your data
Your collection, wishlist and settings live on your phone: remove cards in the app, or delete the app to remove them all (and any phone backups or backup files that hold them, if you want those gone too). To delete what our server keeps about your install (its record, its purchase records here and at RevenueCat, and any wrong-match reports, corrections and feedback it sent), write to us with your Support ID: we delete them and tell you when it is done. More in the privacy policy.
Terms
The terms of use cover what Pilefall does, reference prices, the free cards, Pilefall Pro and fair use.
